vRealize Automation comes with the set Roles which you can assign to the each user so that user will have it’s own specific set of permissions. In this post we will see on How to assign roles to the active directory user in vRealize Automation.
In vRealize Automation there is various set of roles are present such as Approval admin, Tenant admin, Iaas admin & many more. So you don’t have to assign all the role to everyone but you can assign specific set of roles to each users.
So let’s see How to assign permission in vRA:
Login to vRealize Automation.
Go to Administration tab.
Expand Users & Groups.
Select Directory users & groups.
First you will see no user listed here.
To add the user type the name of the user in the search box as mentioned & click search so user will be listed below.
Click on the user.
Here you can see the user details & the roles which are available.
So you can select the roles which you want to assign to the user from the Add roles to this user box.
Select the roles & click Finish to save the user roles.
That’s it , Using this way you can assign different roles to the different users in vRealize Automation where example one user is the requestor & one is the approval administrator who approves the requests.
In this we have selected all the roles for one user because it is LAB environment but in production environment it is not recommended to give all the roles to the single user.
