Fastdot’s Autoscaling Cloud solutions powered by OnApp allow you to easily and instantly autoscale your Cloud VPS resources. This means you can start small, and easily add disk, RAM or CPU as you grow to your Cloud VPS. Our Cloud VPS solutions scale whenever you need.
You can scale VMs (Virtual Machines) up and down / vertically (adding/removing RAM, CPU and disk resources), and scale VMs out / horizontally (by duplicating the VM) according to configurable thresholds.
Autoscale Up (Vertical Scaling)
Scales virtual machines hosted in our OnApp Cloud Cluster to requisition more server resource automatically when it reaches a configurable threshold. This helps maintain performance for applications hosted in the cloud. For example, an application can automatically add more compute or storage capability when peaks of user activity reduce free resources to a certain level, and release it again when activity returns to normal.
Autoscale Out (Horizontal Scaling)
Clones a virtual machine in our OnApp Cloud Cluster when similar thresholds are met. For example, an e-commerce website might clone itself in order to balance transactions across more than one physical server. This would help improve availability and performance for online shoppers.
The Fastdot OnApp Cloud Infrastructure handles the autoscaling process transparently, and automatically calculates billing for the additional resources.
