Key Features of VMcom:

  1. Multi tenancy:

Multi-tenancy is the particularly useful & unique feature of VMcom. Which allows you to create multiple isolated tenants within the same appliance. Each tenant can then be assigned a set of permissions on selected vSphere objects (VMs, folders, resource pools,  etc.)  and  a  storage  quota. Backup  and  restore  operations  can  be  delegated  to  tenant  users  while maintaining a single pane of glass interface for VMcom administrators.

For example, if you have multiple teams in your environment such as Windows, Linux, Database teams. So, you can easily create the tenants for each team where they will manage their own servers’ backup & restore operations.

VMcom allows you to create the self-service portal for each team. Each team will also get their own different URL to access the appliance. You will not find such feature in every backup solution.

  1. Quick Setup:

VMcom comes as an appliance where you can easily setup your VMcom within minutes to protect your environment. So let’s say if you have number of Windows Server & you create single backup job for all the windows servers so all the Windows files will be backed up only once which helps you in saving the storage space on the backup repositories.
